Guys, big apology from me β I keep forgetting to update the Weekly Digest infoΒ beforeΒ it goes out live.
For context, that Digest is 50% automatically curated and 50% editorial control by me. BUT it goes out everything Thursday at 12pm ET, and I have no control over that other than turning itΒ off.
Every week my aspiration is to share something worthwhile and specific.
Two weeks in a row I've missed the deadline!
So sorry that it has been the same copy three weeks in a row. I'm embarrassed!
Tomorrow at 11am ET, we're hosting out About Page Community Showcase!
If you want to join, even as a spectator, register here.
Looking forward to seeing you all live!

I'm curious what everyone is using as a project management tool.Β I've been using AYOA for about a year and like it for the most part although I heard about ClickUp recently and am checking it out.Β Any thoughts on whether to stay with AYOA or move over to ClickUp?Β Other than $$$.Β Thanks!

A good friend of mine who runs a media company is looking for a part time marketing assistant (~20hrs/week).
Below is a general scope of work that will be expected from this individual...and there's a lot of room for growth.
Using materials, tech, and tools supplied by the Company, candidates for this role are expected to:
- Assist with website updates
- Assist with social media updates
- Assist with managing attribution tracking
- Media outlet research
- Assist with writing press materials
- Media outreach
The role is on the DL, so I'm being intentionally vague...but it's a great opportunity. Shoot me a DM if you're interested in learning more and think you're a fit!

HELLO! Welcome to my YouTube Channel! Just kidding. We are clearly not on YouTube, but Iβm glad you found your way here. Welcome to a piece of my universe on the Internet. Iβm Kidjie Boyer and let me tell you about myself.
In the beginningβ¦.
My first name was inspired by the effervescent African singer, Angelique Kidjo. I was born and raised in Miami, FL. I'm a proud daughter of two native-born Haitian entrepreneurs, and I am based in Chicago, IL. A large chunk of my childhood was spent in front of a television. Every chance I had to pop in a VHS I did! I just sat back and watched story after story unfold. Could I have read more books instead? Questionableβ¦.debatable...however having a dad that was a movie buff only encouraged me to continue tuning in. The variety in expression, imagination, and execution that TV and movies offered seemed like the playground I wanted to be in. From elementary school to high school, I participated in drama and musical theatre.Β But after a while kicking my face, TRYING (emphasis on TRYING) to hit high notes and geeking out over the Golden Age era of the American Musical Theatre was not something that felt important or realistic to me. The longer I stayed, the more limited and unlike myself, I began to feel. I didnβt want to stop acting I just wanted to close the door on musical theatre.
Then What?
My world opened up when I got to The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Unlike high school, I was pursuing acting in college. I traded in my libretto for an Anthology of Contemporary African-American plays. My time at the Theatre School made me conscious of mental health awareness, ableism, radical self-love, race vs culture, power systems, inclusivity, womanhood, Blackness, whiteness, #metoo, classism, Black feminism, gender violence, climate change. I mean folxβ¦ I pretty much had an awakening. For once in my life, I was sharing space with people, attending events, and sitting in conversations, that were so nuanced, complex, and not easily digestible. Sounds terrifying, huh? As the late great Frederick Douglass said βIf there is no struggle, there is no progress.β The way the world is unfolding and threatening my very existence requires me to be a conscious artist and not just a puppet. My training has inspired me to move slower, think deeper, and pursue with intentionality and thoughtfulness.Β
Who Is She Now?Β
I am a multidisciplinary performance artist. What do I mean exactly? I am an actress trained in theatre, on-camera, and voiceover. I have experience writing spoken word poetry and short scenes. If the project requires it I can move like a boiled spaghetti to Solange Knowlesβs music. I can make some laugh, but I do not identify as a comedian. I am constantly expanding, learning new skills, and keeping up with the times. A few qualities any client or collaborator would surely catch is my professionalism, open-mindedness, creativity, collaboration, communication skills, and consistency.Β

Highlights:
- We're all a little further behind than we'd like, and that's OK!
- Your About page is a great place to find your unique intersection of skills or experiences that make you likable, relatable, human, and the best choice.
- We talked a little bit about this week's prompt
- NEW: About Page Showcase!
About the Showcase
- On Friday, March 5 at 11am ET, we'll host one more meetup to showcase the pages that have been built!
- You can register here. If you'd like, you can show up as an observer only.
Hey everyone!
Let me own up to the obvious: I missed sending you a prompt last week. Home improvement projects are kicking my butt!
Not only did I miss sending you a prompt, but I haven't made the progress on my OWN About Page that I would like. So, if you're feeling a step behind, that makes two of us.
BUT, we have our next group call tomorrow (Friday) morning at 11am ET (8am PT)! (register here)
So I wanted to share with you some new thoughts that are on my mind as I'm about to approach rebuilding my webpage.

Highlights:
- Your personal "Guide" may not just be a person, but also a formative experience. Even a book or podcast!
- Your own Hero's Journey can focus on yourΒ professionalΒ journey, not limiting you to your personal journey
- Be sure to ask yourselfΒ whoΒ the reader is, and what they need to hear from you
- Connect your journey and what you've learned to that audience's shoes so that you can then position yourself as THEIR guide.

As a small creator, this book has literally changed the way I look at content. Previously, I used to scroll over social media as a 'consumer' for the sake of being entertained or looking at what other people were up to. After reading this book, when coming across a post or a blog, I'd think 'how can I take the content from this post, along with several other posts, add my own twist to it and create something new out of it', whether it be a blog or a YouTube video.Β
If you haven't read this book already, I'd highly recommend it!
