Solopreneur | E-commerce Sustainability Copywriter
Hey! I'm new to the freelance and copywriting world. I can't wait to learn and grow while providing each brand's truth with copy. Niche: e-commerce sustainability > Sub-niches: Lifestyle: self-care/beauty | Fashion | Pet
Hey everyone๐Ÿ™‚,

As I'm setting up my copywriting business, I know I'll need to be legally covered from clients...
...And to have something written to show clients, etc.

These are the polices I know I need:
  • Payments & Refunds
  • Terms of Service
  • Limitations to Liability

So I'm wondering...

  1. ) Are there any policies I'm missing?
  2. Any advice on how to write polices? or any references I can look at?

I googled but I'm at a lost...
...Anything legal has my mind draw a blank and is just gibberish to me lol.

So thank you in advance for any help/advice.๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’•

Ownership of deliverables... actually here's a sample web design contract: The details are probably irrelevant but the topics should mostly apply. You might download the full version here:ย  The Mutual Agreement has all the bits you're looking for. I use a modified version of it in my contracts.

I have struggled with this too.ย  I did the Google search but wasn't sure what I found would work, legally.ย  Part of my research also was to find a service to handle the e-sign part.ย  I went with PandaDoc.ย  They had some samples atย  Looks like they have one for copywriting.

My plan was to find one and edit it.ย  I figured something was better than nothing.ย  But, once I get a few clients, I would then contact a local lawyer to have them review.ย  I have also heard aboutย

Inย ๏ปฟ Jay Clouse ๏ปฟ courses, he mentioned this video interview that he did.ย

I was at a marketing summit and was notified about job openings at Honey Bar Media.

They work with real estate agents, which is outside my niche but hopefully this is ideal for someone here.๐Ÿ™‚

Hi, Isabelle! So glad you're here. We have things in common: I'm self-teaching too, and my niche is specialty pet stores/vets!ย

It sounds like you have good reason to be excited. Good for you!
Hi Jen!ย

Nice to meet you. That's awesome we have some things in common.๐Ÿ˜

Hello Isabelle, I'm a fellow mix heritage (Pakistani (Mom)/American(Dad)).ย  If you are in America, specifically, out west (State of Washington), there is a great Fish n Chips place near the Mukiteo Lighthouse and Ferry station. My dad (who is still on a mission to find the best Fish n chips in the US) found this spot by pure accident and swears it is the best. Don't ask me exactly where Mukiteo is in Washington, but I trust his review.ย
